Black and white checkered floors what color do i paint the walls.?

I am buying my first home and in one of the rooms (rec. room) there is that ugly black and white large checkered board flooring. I just hate it. But i can afford to change the flooring in that room right now. Does anyone have any suggestions on what colors (besides white) would go well with this flooring?
I CAN’T AFFORD TO CHANGE THE FLOORING RIGHT NOW.

silver, red, yellow, dark red, pink, primary blue, bright green, use a bold color and put some funky decorations in there, make it look as if you intended for it to be kind of out there, a cool area rug wouldn’t hurt either

just use lots of modern artsy crap and it will at least be unique
