8 GB SD Card – Explore Right Away Exactly Where Is The Sweet Spot In Flash Memory Prices?
Flash memory cards and USB thumb drives have been sticking with exactly the same upward trend as computers. Stated more explicitly they are getting superior capacities, faster performance at the same price points.
It was not so long ago that only one 1 GB Gigabyte flash card would be viewed as substantial, and would be charged for accordingly. For clarification, I am using the SD format memory cards here as an example given that they are the most well-known for new devices. The pricing rules and principles apply to almost all flash memory products, exclusive and old or used formats will invariably be an exception.
The sweet spot in pricing is by no means the most recent and best version. Throughout the time of this writing, space on these types of devices has equaled 32GB. These will be quite costly both in out and out cost as well as in cost per GB. The smaller devices, those under 4GB, are at the cheapest price and can not be manufactured for less and manufacture of these will be phased out.
So, what is the finest deal? At the moment you can get an 8GB SD card or an 8GB SDHC card for merely a few dollars more than the 4GB cards. This causes them to be the present victor in the cost per GB race. Time will come when 64GB along with larger cards are the cutting edge and the sweet spot will rise to larger sized capacities.
If you believe that you will have your device for more than a few years it is usually ideal to buy just the amount of memory you need and buy one additional card if your needs increase. Using this technique you can pay the least amount for your memory card storage over the long-term.
