Absolut Torr – The Absolute Solution
Absolut Torr is a far cry from your ordinary brand of antiperspirant. It is an antiperspirant that is designed to bring comfort and relief from sweat to people who are suffering from a severe medical condition known as hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating.
Excessive sweating is a condition that a relatively small portion of the United States suffer from, it affects 1% of the American population. Its primary symptom is overproduction of sweat in areas where there are higher concentrations of sweat glands which are the feet, the palms of the hands, the face and of course the underarms. If you have been diagnosed with hyperhidrosis, you have probably already heard about this Swedish product which has provided them relief from their bothersome sweating. For the most parts, it is effective in keeping the underarms free from sweat.
Absolut Torr has received rave user reviews because it can actually keep the skin of the underarms dry. Just like other very strong antiperspirants, Absolut Torr relies on the property of aluminum chloride hexahydrate to block pores to limit perspiration. When applied to the skin, this antiperspirant automatically sticks to the uppermost layer of the skin, sink into the pores and block them.
Benefits of Absolut Torr
It is very easy to use – Like most prescription-strength antiperspirant roll-ons, Absolut Torr can be simply applied on the skin. The product is applied once the skin dries after shower to avoid skin irritation. Absolut Torr should also be applied during the night to allow it to take longer effects. Because of the strong chemicals in the product which may cause damage to fabric, users are advised to use old shirts or nightwear instead of new ones. For excessively sweaty underarms, this product should be applied two nights in a row. In the morning after the application, rinse the underarms and apply deodorant for odor control.
Effect that lasts long – It only takes one or two applications per week for underarm sweating to be controlled fully.
Cons of using this product on your skin
It stings when applied – Most users report of feeling a stinging sensation after applying this product on the skin which is not an allergic reaction at all. This, as many users report, can last for as much as several minutes to several hours.
It works perfectly in combination with a deodorant – Deodorants are different from antiperspirants in that the former do not cause the underarms to dry. These are usually used as ‘colognes’ to the underarms as these are scented to mask the smell that usually develops in the underarms as a result of hyperhidrosis. Absolut Torr allows for the application of a deodorant to control the bad odor while it works to control the release of sweat.
It can irritate the skin – On top of causing damage to the fabric, the strong chemicals that this antiperspirant contains can also cause your skin irritation. If you are planning to use it, try consulting with your physician about the best cream you can use to minimize skin irritation.
It only works for underarm sweating – Absolut Torr is not really useful if your problem with sweating goes beyond your underarms. The strong chemicals used in this product are not suitable for the skin of the face, the hands and the feet.
Long-term use leads to diminishing effects – A common complaint about Absolut Torr is that the effects of the product usually wears off after several months of continuous use.
