Any idea what causes a small white growth in the back of the throat?
No other symptoms- feeling fine, no fever, no sore throat, etc., just a white waxy-looking patch (smaller than a pencil eraser) at the back of the throat. It has appeared before and seemed to “fall out” after awhile the last time, leaving behind a small hole. Now it’s back. Why?
If this white spot is on your tonsils, then there’s a big chance you are talking about a ‘tonsillith’ or tonsil stone. These are usually small white debris that get lodges in your tonsil crypts/holes and can be a result of food debris, dead cells, and sometimes bacteria. You should try gargling three times a day to get rid of them. If they persist, you should go see your doctor to help treat this condition.
