South Africa in mid August, what to wear ?
Hello everybody, I will go to South Africa in mid-August, and I am not sure about what to wear in the Kruger area.
Given that I will do safari at dawn I was thinking about packing a down jacket ( the one I use here during the winter- I am from Italy – ), wool hat ( ski beanie hat ) and wool scarf.
Would that be good ??
Or more appropriate for a week in the mountains rather than going to Africa ? 
Plus, I do not know what to do about malaria tablets. My idea was using a lot of anti mosquito repellent, but better safe than sorry ?? Should I really consider malaria tablets for Kruger in August ?

You will need body armour for when you are still alive and a body bag for the return journey.It would also help to have an anti RAPE kit.
