What is the difference between the Riedell Yellow Ribbons and the Riedell Blue Ribbons?

The Riedell Ribbon series was designed for recreational skaters. The main difference between the skates is the amount and style of the padding. Yellow Ribbons have the least amount of padding and a really made for little kids; same with the White Ribbons. The Red Ribbon is the lowest skate I would ever recommend to an adult recreational skater. The Blue Ribbon has the most padding of the Ribbons and has enough support to last through the beginner levels. The Blue Ribbon can be purchased with a beginner freestyle blade for younger skaters. All the Ribbons have plastic soles and it’s not worth it to switch out blades.
The Medallion Series is for beginning figure skating. Both skates have leather soles and can be purchased as a set or boot/blade separately. The Bronze Medallion has a “cut-out” by the pinkie and big toe to allow the foot to spread out. Great for kids learning to jump but I wouldn’t recommend an adult do freestyle. The Gold Medallion has more padding then the Bronze and is sufficient for most jumps for kids and smaller adults.
Riedell has recently redesigned their skate lines. The new 115RS replaces the White Ribbon. The 133TS is between the Blue Ribbon and Bronze Medallion in terms of padding but the 133TS has lots of comfort features. The 255TS is between the Gold Medallion and the Bronze Star for padding and has the same comfort features as the 133TS.
