Can anyone explain to me in detail about Oakley lenses color option?
I want to buy a pair of Oakley snow goggles can’t decide which lenses color is the best one:
G30
Persimmon
Hi intensity Persimmon
Hi intensity Yellow
Emerald Iridium
Blue Iridium
VR28
VR50 pink iridium
For each of these lenses color, what condition are they good for? I want a all condition pair of google if possible but if not, I prefer to ski on a snowing day in the day time.
G30 – contrast enhancing lens. good for cloudy conditions- does not have a reflective coating so people can see your eyes
Persimmon- very high contrast lens- good for VERY cloudy conditions and brightly lit night skiing. NOT good for bright sunlight- makes sun very intens. No shiny coating
Hi intensity Persimmon- same base color as Persimmon, but has a shiny coating that makes it harder (not impossible) to see your eyes
Hi intensity Yellow- Yellow based lens. Very good for cloudy and night skiing (my favorite “non-sunny” lens). Has bluish relfective coating that makes it hard for people to see your eyes
Emerald Iridium- Greenish reflective coating- good for sunny days. not so good if it’s snowing but will work if its light snow
Blue Iridium – Good for really sunny days, has blue reflective coating that makes it hard to see your eyes (like a blue mirror)
VR28- contrast enhancing tint, works for partly sunny days and very bright cloudy days.
VR50 pink iridium- contrast enhanncing tint like Vr28. Has a pinkish reflective coating that makes your eyes harder to see.
Personally, I have used all of these lenses and I keep Black Iridium and Hi Yellow with me and use those two colors the most.
