Kawasaki engine won’t get up to speed.?
I have a 340 2 cylinder 2 stroke kawasaki snowmobile engine on an ultralight aircraft.The carb is new the plugs are new and the ones recommended. It starts great and idles great. It will rev perfectly up to 3800-4000 rpm then when given more throttle it just dies. I have adjusted the rich and lean and replaced the high end jet multiple times and it still does the exact same thing. It is getting plenty of fuel ( it has a new pump). I need to get at least 6400 rpm. I’m stumped. any help would be great. Thanks.
Adjust the points & timing.
Inspect the air cleaner.
Clean or replace as necessary.
When you say you replaced the high end jet, did you change
the needle height?
The needle is on the throttle slide.
It controls 1/4 – 3/4 of the throttle opening.
The main jet controls 3/4 – wide open.
If the needle height was mis-adjusted, that would affect engine acceleration.
