How do I dye my hat black?
I know absolutely nothing about cloths or how to dye them. But I have this hat and I’m trying to dye it all black. The hat is one of those average every day baseball caps with the duckbill visor sticking out in the front. it’s Brown in the front, brown in the back, and white on the sides. the front of the hat says Los Angeles in raised lettering the top part of the visor is white and the bottom is brown. The cap is 85% Acrylic and 15% wool. I just want to dye it all black how do i go about doing this?
If you go to your local store ( i know stores like walmart and meijers carry this stuff) and go in the laundry supplies department there are usually small stands on the shelves of fabric dye. They have decent instructions on the back (at least the last time i dyed anything they did). I think the brand is “rite” or along those lines. You can either drop the hat into a bucket with some dye then hand wash it afterwards, or you can toss it in the washer with other black clothing. The dye will make your hat black and what ever else you want black. Beware if doing this in a washer besure your next load is stuff you don;t care about because access dye WILL get into the next load. (I usually wash my set of black sheets afterwards). If dying the hat in a bucket make sure to wear rubber gloves and THROUGHLY wash the hat afterward to avoid getting dye on your skin. Good luck!
