What to do when a person from Australia comes to USA.?

I am haveing my Pen Pal from Australia to the USA to see me and my family.They are coming down winter and I need some suggestions what to do with her.

Are you some where it snows? Skiing? It’s lousy in Australia. And you often have to go out of your way to even see snow. I lived there when I was little and didn’t see snow until I moved to the U.S. at age 4. If they’re coming before the holidays, remember it’s summer in Australia. So be sure she fully experiences the sort of winter-y holiday spirit.

If you live in or near a big city, it’s always interesting to explore and see all the funny little differences. Sydney (for example) is nothing at all like Portland and neither are anything like Vancouver. Take her to the touristy areas, but show the her different neighborhoods too.

Or, if you live in a rural area, she might enjoy observing the local rednecks. I know I do. Partake in cliche redneck activities. Driving around mud fields in your truck.

And if she likes outdoorsy stuff, the flora and fauna of the two countries are very, very different. Hiking is fun.

Take her out for American or Mexican food. I’ve yet to eat at a decent Mexican place here.

And remind her to get adapters for her electronics!
