2003 ski doo summit 800?

Yesterday I was riding my sled, and after I was done riding it, I hit the kill switch. The sled went to a rough idle, but was still idling. I thought that was weird. I then pulled the key out, and it was still idling. I ended up squeezing the throttle for it to die. Has anybody ever had this problem? Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I assumed maybe the carburetor was giving off enough fumes or something to keep it running. I couldn’t think of anything thing else.. Maybe something in the computer? Any help would be appreciated.

Its called “after run”. In my experience, it happens when the motor is working really hard, then you abruptly shut it off. If you give it a few seconds to return to idle before you shut it off you should be fine.
