IF YOU HAVE ANY CONNECTIONS THAT COULD SET ME UP PLEASE TELL ME.

I doubt anyone on Yahoo answers has the proper connections for you because it seems every other day someone else asks the same freakin’ question.

Since “The Biz” is all about social networking, and you are a few years too shy to be buying the Burton demo team rounds of shooters at the bar, your chances of scoring any form of sponsorship is slim…sorry. That’s just the way it goes.

Gear companies get THOUSANDS of sponsorship requests a month. Mostly from 13-17 year olds who think they are hot $#!t because they can land a 720 without falling over.

The best place, at your age, to start is by speaking to the owner of the local snowboard shops. They know the company reps. The reps know the people in the sales departments who know the people in the marketing departments. It’s like “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.” In this case you are five degrees away from meeting someone who can actually help you get sponsored. You are most likely closer to Kevin Bacon than you are to a sponsorship. So get your butt down to the snowboard shop and start kissing some butt. Bring videos. Bring Pix. Bring breath mints too.
