Ski bindings don’t fit my daughter’s boots – what can I do?

I bought new junior skis on ebay from a reputable dealer. They came with bindings and the ad said that they would fit boots Mondo 15-24.5. My daughter’s boots are 19.5. I got the skis, and they don’t even come close to fitting her boots – the opening is way too long. The front part of the binding adjusts with a little flick of a switch, but even at its smallest size, it doesn’t come close. I can’t see any way to easily move the back section of the binding. I am a newbie, obviously. Can anyone tell me what’s going on? Did the vendor mount the bindings in the wrong place on the skis? I’m sure this is a dumb question but when you don’t know these things, it can sure stump you.

Her boots came from a ski shop and they fit perfectly – it’s the new skis that don’t seem to fit the boots.

The best way is to take them to a shop and have them adjusted to her height, weight and boot size. As an alternative, contact the seller and ask if they know how. As a last resort, inspect the heel piece on the ski, at the back there may be a small tab that can be lifted and then the heel piece is slid forward to the proper size. The bindings must still be adjusted for tension both side and forward tension (DIN) settings must match for them to work correctly. The safest way is to take them to a pro ski shop and have then adjusted and a tune up at the same time. $50 is cheaper than a leg injury.
