Twin tip ski sizing!?
I’m a 17 year old girl who’s 5’4″ and currently I have Atomic Seventh Heaven allterian skis, 152 cm. I’m looking at buying a new pair of twin tips and my friend is selling hers for an extremely good price, and the same size. But I’ve heard you add 10 cm to ski length when buying twin tips. I’m not sure whether or not to follow through with the purchase based upon the fact I’m not sure if the skis are the right length.
Also, I’d say I ski on the level of intermediate-expert if that makes the sizing choice more accurate.
Please help asap!
The reason to add the 10 cm for twin tips is amount of snow contact that is lost when the rear of the ski is turned up. If the skis are in good condition and you do not ski groomers all the time go for it. They may not be the perfect size but they are usable for a season or 2. Technology is changing rapidly and the skis for next season should be even better than this year.
